What is capacitance and its classification

The so-called capacitor is an electronic component that accommodates and releases charges. The basic working principle of a capacitor is charging and discharging, as well as rectifying, oscillating, and other functions. In addition, the structure of a capacitor is very simple, mainly composed of two positive and negative electrodes and an insulating medium sandwiched in the middle, so the type of capacitor is mainly determined by the electrode and the insulating medium. Capacitors have many uses, mainly including the following:

1. DC blocking: Its function is to prevent DC from passing through and allow AC to pass through.

2. Bypass (decoupling): Provides a low impedance path for certain parallel components in AC circuits.

3. Coupling: As a connection between two circuits, it allows AC signals to pass through and be transmitted to the next level of electricity

4. Filtering: This is very important for DIY, and the capacitors on the graphics card are mostly used for this purpose.

5. Temperature compensation: To compensate for the impact of insufficient temperature adaptability of other components and improve the stability of the circuit.

6. Timing: When capacitors and resistors are used together, the time constant of the circuit is determined.

7. Tune: Systematically tune circuits related to frequency, such as mobile phones, radios, and televisions.

8. Rectification: Open or close the semi closed conductor switching element at a predetermined time.

9. Energy storage: storing electrical energy for release when necessary. For example, camera flash, heating equipment, and so on. Nowadays, the energy storage level of some capacitors is close to that of lithium batteries, and the energy stored in one capacitor can be used for a mobile phone
